Seedance 2.0 and 2.5: Video from Words, Photos or Clips, Start Free on 2.0 Mini

Cinematic Push-in

What is Seedance?

Seedance AI is ByteDance's family of video models. It is good at mixing several references in one request, so a face from one photo, an outfit from another and a movement from a short clip can end up in the same shot, and it generates sound together with the picture. The generator above gives you three versions: Seedance 2.0 Mini, the light, low-cost one that new accounts can try on free credits; Seedance 2.0, which reaches the highest resolution of the three; and Seedance 2.5, the newest, for clips up to 30 seconds.

A short history of Seedance

  1. June 2025

    Seedance 1.0

The first video model from ByteDance's Seed team, released in Lite and Pro versions. It could cut between two or three shots in one clip and keep the subject consistent, but the video was silent.

  2. December 2025

    Seedance 1.5 Pro

Added audio generated in the same pass as the picture, including speech with matching lip movement in several languages, plus more deliberate camera moves.

  3. February 2026

    Seedance 2.0

Took mixed references in one request, up to nine images, three video clips and three audio clips, so one prompt could borrow a face, a movement and a sound at once.

  4. June 2026

    Seedance 2.0 Mini

A lighter, cheaper edition of 2.0 with the same text, frame and reference modes, tuned for speed and price and capped at 720p.

  5. July 2026

    Seedance 2.5

Stretched a clip to 30 seconds and added local editing, changing one detail such as hair color while the rest stays put.

How to use Seedance on Plimo

  1. Start on a Seedance version

The generator at the top of the page already has a Seedance model selected. Each version card has a button to switch, or open the model menu for another maker.
  2. Choose frames or references

Frames mode turns one photo into the opening shot, with an optional second photo as the closing shot. Reference mode takes up to nine photos and up to three short clips, so Seedance can borrow a face, a jacket or a way of moving.
  3. Describe what happens

Say who is in the shot, what they do and where the camera goes. Version 2.5 always needs this text, while the Mini and the full 2.0 can animate a photo with the box left empty.
  4. Set length and sound, then generate

Pick a duration and resolution, keep sound on or mute it, and check the credit total on the Generate button. Sign in with Google or an emailed code if you haven't yet.
  5. Compare and remake

The finished clip appears in My creations below. Download it, or hit Remake to load the same prompt and files back in and run them on a different Seedance version.

Why run Seedance on Plimo

  • Three Seedance versions in one menu

Plimo works as a Seedance AI video generator with three versions in one menu. Try one idea on the light version and the newest one, then line the results up against Kling or Veo from the same account.
  • A free first clip

A new account comes with a one-time batch of free credits, enough for a 5-second 2.0 Mini video at 480p. Signing up never asks for a card.
  • You see the price first

Cost depends on clip length and resolution, and the Generate button shows the total before you commit. A failed run puts its credits straight back.
  • Photos and clips as references

Reference mode takes photos and short videos together, which helps the same person, pet or product look like itself across a whole series of clips.
  • Sound with a mute switch

Every Seedance version here makes audio together with the picture. Turn it off when you plan to lay your own music over the clip.
  • No watermark with a membership

Seedance videos made during a membership download without a watermark and can be used for business. Clips made without a membership carry a small mark and stay personal.

Seedance next to other video models

  • Kling

Kling 4.0 also reaches 30 seconds and always adds sound, and besides following a clip's motion it can edit the uploaded clip directly.

  • Veo

Veo 3.1 Fast always makes an 8-second clip with sound, so it fits one polished cinematic shot better than a longer scene.

  • Hailuo AI

Hailuo's MiniMax H3 models lean toward lifelike people and faces, put audio in every clip and stop at 15 seconds.

  • Grok Imagine

Grok Imagine 1.5 is the other video series new accounts can try on free credits; it takes photos as guides, while Seedance also takes reference clips.

  • Wan

Wan 3.0 from Alibaba covers the widest length range, starting at 2 seconds and running to 30, with up to ten reference photos and up to five clips.

  • Vidu

Vidu Q4 Preview must start from a picture but accepts up to fifteen reference photos, compared with nine on Seedance.

  • FLUX

FLUX 3 Video from Black Forest Labs, better known for images, offers a rough draft preview before the full render and runs up to 20 seconds.

  • SkyReels

SkyReels V4 from Skywork can work from a start frame, an end frame or both, and takes up to three reference photos.

  • HappyHorse

HappyHorse 1.1 from Alibaba animates one start frame or blends up to nine reference photos, though it has no end frame.

What to make with Seedance

  • A dance move copied onto you

In reference mode, add a short clip of a routine you like and a full-length photo of yourself, then describe that person doing the same moves on a rooftop at sunset.
  • A product turning on a table

Upload three photos of a sneaker from different angles and ask for a slow turn on a white surface. The extra angles help the shape and logo stay steady.
  • A small story in one take

Seedance 2.5 can hold one scene for up to 30 seconds, so write a beginning, middle and end: a kid spots a runaway kite, chases it across a field and finally grabs the string.
  • Your cat as a recurring character

Reuse the same three photos of your cat for every episode, from flipping pancakes to riding a skateboard, and followers will recognize the star each time.
  • A flower that opens on cue

Use a photo of a closed bud as the first frame and the same flower in full bloom as the last. The clip fills in the petals unfolding between the two.
  • A cozy clip with its own sound

Describe rain tapping on a tin roof while a kettle starts to whistle. Because the audio comes out with the video, the clip is ready to post as it is.
  • A cheap draft before the final cut

Work out the wording on the Mini, where each try costs little. Once the motion looks right, press Remake and run the same prompt on 2.5 for a longer version or on the full 2.0 for a sharper one.

Seedance questions

No. Plimo is an independent website that uses Seedance models through an API. It isn't made by ByteDance and has no affiliation with the company.

Yes, to start. New accounts get free credits once, and they cover one 5-second Seedance 2.0 Mini clip at 480p. The other versions, longer clips and higher resolutions need a membership, listed on the pricing page.

The version cards above list where prices start. Your exact total, which rises with length, resolution and references, appears on the Generate button, and a failed run refunds its credits.

The Mini and the full 2.0 make clips of 4 to 15 seconds. Seedance 2.5 goes further, up to 30 seconds in one clip.

Yes. Each version here creates audio in the same pass as the video, and the sound setting starts switched on. Turn it off if you'd rather add music later.

Frames mode takes one photo for the start and an optional one for the end. Reference mode takes up to nine photos plus up to three clips that add up to about 15 seconds. Photos can be JPG, PNG or WebP up to 30 MB, and clips MP4 or MOV up to 50 MB.

On Seedance 2.5, yes. The Mini and the full 2.0 will animate a start photo with an empty prompt, though one line about the motion usually gets closer to what you pictured.

Yes. Type the scene and leave the upload slots empty. The text to video page is built around written prompts, and image to video covers animating a single picture.

Without a membership, a small mark sits in the bottom-right corner and the clip is for personal use. Clips generated while you're a member have no mark and can be used commercially.

Plimo itself never trains models on your uploads or results. The model provider handles each request under its own terms.
